The Refreshing Personal Site of Andy Knight and His Beloved Family

A little bit about us

Photos on this page taken were taken by Richard Harris in Roswell, GA.

Hi, my name is Andy and my friends call me Andy. I am a husband, a web designer, and a Christ promoter. I am bonkers for my wife Tiffany. She is the best mom in the world in the world. You can definitely see her love for her mom career come through when she writes. I also have a really awesome, expressive, tender-hearted little boy who gets more fun to hang out with every single day.

My day job since November 2006 has been serving as the web coordinator for Right From the Heart in Marietta, GA, a non-profit, non-denominational ministry that seeks to reach and disciple people with the good news of Jesus.

Before joining Right From the Heart, I served as a web designer for Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX. And before that, I served as the Electronic Communications Manager at Lifetime Guarantee Ministries in Fort Worth, TX.

No matter where I draw a paycheck though, my life seems to revolve around communication. What’s the message? Life is an adventure. It never turns out exactly the way we expect. Life is about more than accumulating cash or jumping from one experience rush to the next. Life is about relationships. It’s about connecting with family, with others, and It’s also about connecting with God.

Yeah, I’m a believer in God, the God of the Bible, the God who created all things, the God whose love stayed consistent even though his highest, most cherished creation (us) chose to reject that love. I believe in this God. I believe that this God still pursues, and will stop at nothing to win us back. I believe that he would rather die than be without us. In fact that’s what he did. I believe this is the greatest story ever told.

My Philosophy

On life

  • Life is not my story. It is God’s. I am humbled to play even a teeny tiny part in His grand story.
  • Life is about communication…with God and others.
  • The Christian Life is not hard to live. It’s impossible to live …apart from Christ living His life through you.
  • Christians, even the weak, are saints not sinners.
  • You’re identity is not determined by what you do, but by who you are.
  • Grace, not law, is the most effective motivator in life.
  • God is SO BIG. I am so small.
  • He is creative. So am I.

On web design

  • Compelling content is the most important element of a successful website.
  • Accessible websites are proof that you care about every visitor.
  • Beautifully designed websites are inviting and make your eyes happy.
  • Code that is sanitized, standardized, and organized makes life easier for every person who sees it and every software application that reads it.
  • Separating content code from presentation code is just plain smart.

In November 2005 I joined the Godbit team, and I was interviewed. If you want you can read the interview.

The Love of My Life

Meet Tiffany

Tiffany, my awesome wife, frequently adds to the site by offering her thoughts on being a wife and a mom…and she’s getting really good at this blogging thing. Tiffany and I met and fell in love in college at the University of Mobile and were married in 1998. She was a fifth grade teacher for a few years until Caleb was born. Now she feels like she is doing the job that God created her to do. I have to admit, my job is fluff compared to hers.

A few interesting facts about Tiffany.

She can catch a frisbee behind her back. While doing some modeling in a mall, she once fainted while standing on the rim of a fountain. Although she’s an excellent cook, she’s now a Super Suppers evangelist. She has a cute way of stretching out the last syllable in a sentence. She has bungee jumped multiple times. She loves whitewater rafting. She’s adamant about getting her nine hours of sleep per night. She always sends Thank You notes. She proudly wears the label “anal.” She can bench press two hundred pounds. She’s a devoted friend. She’s a hopeless romantic…in a practical kind of way. She’d rather be a mom than any other job…though sometimes she questions this when she’s not getting her nine hours of sleep or Caleb’s not getting his eleven hours. Her faith in God is big. She can’t really bench press two hundred pounds, but she does work out three times per week. She’ll tell me when my clothes don’t match or my breath stinks. She’s my biggest fan, biggest friend, and biggest kick in the pants sometimes. She expects great things from me. I love her.
