15 Month Check-Up
By Tiffany on 20 October 2004 the wee hoursCategory: The Boys Caleb went for his 15 month check-up on Monday. He weighed 25 lbs 4 oz (60%) and was 34 and a half inches long (100%). He is going to be a tall boy. The doctor said his thumb infection is looking a little better but will take a long time to heal since he sucks that thumb.
The night before the appointment Andy and I sat down and wrote out a list of questions for the doctor. We had gone through the list and things were going well during the exam until Andy threw out a question that wasn't on my list. His question came during the part of the exam when the doctor was examining all of Caleb's little boy parts without his diaper on. I knew I was in trouble. This would prove to be the highlight of the appointment.
Andy said, "So when does he get to the age where he'll quit playing with himself?" I looked at him like he'd lost his mind. It is bad enough that Caleb loves to run around naked with both hands attached to his... (you know), but do we really need to bring it up to the doctor. Well, without hesitation the doctor said "Oh, it will be DECADES before he quits that. But the good news is I've never seen a little boy that has pulled one off before". I was so embarrassed. I guess this is the kind of stuff I have to look forward to living in a house with all boys. Andy will not be coming back to the doctor with us anymore!
