My parents James and Carolyn (a.k.a. Pappy and Grandy) are in town this week from Alabama. Today we had the privilege of celebrating their 40th anniversary with them. Wow! 40 years!
Dad was telling me about how fast time flies. I asked him which decade went by the fastest, and he said it was the 40s. He said that one day he was 30 years old and before he knew it, he was 50.
I’ve never once seen my dad raise his voice or mistreat my mom in any way. When I was younger I remember thinking it was funny to listen to them kissing in bed. I’m talking loud…really loud smacking.
My parents have given me many things over the years, but the best thing they have ever given me is the example of a successful marriage.
I also love them because when they came into town yesterday with the R.V. in tow, they also brought Caleb back with them. It was so good to see him. He had been gone for a week in Alabama with Tiffany’s mom where he had an incredible time and probably didn’t miss us at all.
