Call me a Garage Sale Pro

Tiffany and normally don't go to garage sales. I'm not exactly sure why we don't. I think mostly because you have to be out there before 7am to get the best stuff. Yesterday, however, we decided to go because a neighboring subdivision was having a "neighborhood garage sale." It was a big time event. There were kids who set up their drink stands selling soft drinks for fifty cents. One such booth were giving away free sunglasses for every drink or bag of chips bought. Donald Trump would have been proud at these "Apprentice" wannabes. You were nobody if you weren't selling something. Every other house was hawking something from golf clubs, to winter coats, to computer equipment.

We were mainly on the hunt for cheap toys for Caleb. We have bought him very few toys, thanks mostly to the gifts from grandparents and others who have heaped them upon him. After we had walked around the entire neighborhood, we decided to go back to two houses because they had a few interesting items. We ended buying this little buggy filled with mega blocks (see the photo of Caleb sitting in it in the "Pictures" section. The sticker price was $3.00, but I knew better. I was going to offer $1.00, fully expecting a counter-offer of $2.00, which was going to be fine with me. Surprisingly, the seller was weak. He made no counter offer, and we skipped away with a great toy for only $1.00. I think I am enjoying playing with these blocks more than he is :)

The other purchase at the garage sale was an croquet set. We've been wanting one ever since my parents had one over at the bay a couple summers ago. List price was $9.00, but I worked her down to six bucks, but alas, the only problem is our grass is still not looking good enough for championship croquet.
