First Class

As I write this, Pres Gillham (my boss and friend) and I are enjoying our return flight from Orlando. The purpose of the trip was to meet with a web marketing/hosting company who will be assisting us with our electronic ministry at Lifetime Guarantee.

Before we boarded the plane, Pres requested a complimentary ticket upgrade.. He can do that since he flies so much. The ticketing agent agreed, so I am experiencing my inaugural flight as a first class passenger.

I slid cozily into my oversize chair, stretched my legs completely straight, and watched all the simple commoners pass by headed to their pitiful little seats in the back. The flight attendant offered us a hearty breakfast complete with a little goblet for orange juice. Later in the flight she offered us a little warm rag. I'm still not sure what that was all about. Out of all the possible first class perks they could have come up with, who decided that a wet rag is what it would take to make me feel superior to the poor peasants in the rear.

Well, now after a quick layover in St.Louis, I've rejoined the lowly paupers in the back for this second and final leg of the flight back to DFW. I can't believe that I've actually been relegated to a seat where my legs are going to be bent for over a whole hour. Not only that, but my seat will not even recline more than about five degrees. How do these weary travelers survive these frightening conditions? Oh the madness of it all! Lord, deliver me from such future trials and tribulations :-)
