Guys Only Weekend

Category: The Boys Tiffany and her best friend Sarah flew to San Antonio for the weekend to attend the wedding of a college roommate. It was a quick trip, leaving Saturday morning and returning Sunday afternoon. Caleb and I did our thing here. We had lots of fun. After I put him to bed on Saturday night at 7pm, I watched The Godfather. I had seen this movie on lots of lists of people's (particulary men) favorite movies. It was a good movie, but I wasn't blown away by it, although there were lots of people in the movie who were blown away.

I enjoyed spending so much time with Caleb, but it was also nice to see Tiffany return. Caleb and I wrote her a poem and gave it to her when she got home:

Caleb and I have a lot to say
We missed you a lot today
We played games and sang songs too,
but mostly we thought about you
We stayed on schedule and had plenty to eat
But with just us guys we were missing a treat
We ran some errands and played on the floor
But what we really wanted was for you to walk through the door
It's a lot of work taking care of a family,
And nobody does it better than you, Tiffany.
It's election year so we took a vote
And the results are written here in this note:
You're the winner of "Best Mom and Wife."
