Play Mo!

Caleb had his first real field trip today. It was his morning at Heather and Rachel's house. He loves days he gets to play up there. I dropped him off at 8 am, and Heather mentioned she was going to take them to the zoo. I immediately thought she was crazy. A hundred degree day, 2 toddlers, and a huge zoo. I knew there was no way she would come home without losing one of the kids. Boy was I wrong!
I showed up at her house at noon to pick up Caleb, and the house was dark and quiet. They weren't back yet. I thought that meant the police were searching the zoo for Caleb. I called Heather on her cell phone, and she told me they were having so much fun that they lost track of time. She said she'd drop Caleb off at my house when they got done.
At 12:45 Heather pulled into the driveway. As soon as I opened Caleb's door he started screaming, "play mo...play mo...play mo". He said it over and over while Heather and I talked. Lately he doesn't want his playdates with Heather and Rachel to end. He was sandy, sweaty, a little pink, and wearing a diaper 2 sizes too small, but it was obvious that he had loved every minute of the day. I am so blessed to have a friend like Heather who takes such great care of my baby.
