Tennis Tournament! Are You Kidding Me?
By Andy on 15 September 2003 the wee hoursCategory: Personal I haven't swung a tennis rackett in at least two years. I haven't played a decent match in about five. I remember of the glory days of high school tennis. When someone finds out that I used to play tennis in high school and just happened to be top seed on the team, they immediately get the wrong idea, and generally I let them keep their wrong idea because ... well ... it makes me look good. What they don't realize is that I attended a school where we had to beg people to even go out for tennis. There was that time this guy named Adrian started playing for our team, and I promise he didn't know which hand he was supposed to use to swing the rackett. Anybody in my school who even hinted that they might have a remote desire to learn the rules for tennis was recruited with the same tenacity my dog Wesley has when you offer him a treat. We made harrassing phone calls, fear tactics, and whatever else we could think of to get them to join the team ... and they weren't even good at playing tennis.
So that's my tennis past. Now let me tell you about my tennis present. I have signed up to play in a tennis tournament at my school, Southwestern Seminary. IT STARTS TOMORROW! I have zero time to prepare. Mama Meea I'm scared. Do I even remember how to play? I think the scoring goes something like 15-30-40-Love, right? Oh boy! This might be a little much for getting back into tennis. You pray, I'll keep you posted about my tennis future.
