Why I Worship God
By Andy on 22 March 2004 the wee hoursCategory: What Matters Most Had a great time at Northlake's Refuge student discipleship weekend. I was in the home with the 12th graders, and they were cool. We talked a lot about becoming authentic worshippers of Christ. I really believe that the reason we were created was to worship God, and it's in that lifestyle of worship (not just for an hour on Sunday morning) that we find the highest level of satisfaction and enjoyment out of life.
If you have seen The Passion of the Christ as I have, then you understand the reason why God is worthy of worship. He could have instantly come down from the horrible cross at any moment, but He stayed put because he was paying the due penalty of sin for the people he loved so much. I don't deserve the forgiveness of God, but because of Jesus' sacrifical death in my place, I have been given what I don't deserve. That's grace, and that my friends, is why I worship Him.
