Brotherly Love

We’re thrilled with how Caleb has responded to being a big brother. He loves helping take care of Andrew. He assists at bath time. He lets him sit with us during his bed time book reading. He also talks about how he can’t wait to take him places.
One funny thing is how Caleb loves “conversing” with Andrew. Of course, Tiffany and I have to play the role of Andrew and talk for him like a ventriloquist would. For instance, while pointing at the refrigerator, Caleb might ask him something like, “So what’s that big white thing over there?” Then we have to respond in a high-pitched voice such as how an infant would presumably sound, “Is it a big block of milk?” since all that he really cares about right now is getting more milk. Then Caleb would explain exactly what a frig is and how it works. That scene is repeated a hundred times in any given day.
We didn’t really know what to expect, but we’re proud of how much he has taken to Andrew. We also have no expectations that this brotherly love will continue once the little guy starts crawling around and messing with his big brother’s toys. For now though, all we can do is smile:
