Overheard Conversations at the Knight House

By Andy on 5 February 2007 mid-morning
Category: The Boys

The following took place between 6:00 and 7:00 last night while I was taking Caleb to the bathroom before bedtime:

Caleb: Daddy, What are these little bumps on me?

Me: Those are your nipples son. Can you say nipples? (In hindsight, I’m not sure why I still ask him if he can say things like this?)

Caleb: Nipples. Daddy, Why do I have nipples?

Me: That’s a great question. I have no idea why we have nipples.

Caleb: Daddy, they look like volcanoes.

To him, everything is somehow related to volcanoes. Did you know that he was a volcanologist last Halloween. You just don’t see too many volcanologist costumes in Wal-Mart.

  1. So, I want to make all kind of comments at this point… I’m not going to because Wendy would be mad at me… but ohhhhhh the one liners that are coming to my mind…

  2. Andy,

The best explanation I heard for this was in comparing nipples to the fins on an old classic automobile. They are just for decoration. — Mark    Feb 6, 11:47 AM    #
  3. You could always try this book…http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781400082315&itm=7

    Love you guys!

  4. Speaking of volcanoes…did you know you could actually make one with some Jello, baking soda and vinegar? If Caleb would be interested (which it sound’s like he would), I can get you the recipe…

And I have to admire a kid who can compare body parts to terrestrial explosions…talk about imagination!
