Questions Caleb Ponders

Caleb has a hard time napping some afternoons. He lies in there and talks to himself about all sorts of things as content as he can be. He usually has a question for me as soon as I walk in the room, so I can tell what he has been thinking about.

The other day it was raining during his naptime. When I went in to get him up he told me that it was raining. He said, “We should tell God thank you for the rain. The flowers and grass will grow.” Then immediately he closed his eyes and prayed, “God is great. God is good. Thank you for the rain. Amen.”

Then he looked at me and said, “How does God make it rain?” I told him I thought God just thought about rain and it would rain. Caleb quickly corrected me by saying, “No, He has a button he pushes. What color do you think the button is mommy?”

I had never really thought about how God makes it rain before. When Caleb jumped out of bed he looked at me and said, “Oh yeah, what took so long with this sleep?”
