Superheroes

I can’t figure out how being an ordinary woman I managed to give birth to not one but two superheroes!

Caleb has learned a lot more at preschool than just the alphabet. He has been introduced to the world of superheroes. Without watching a single show he has become an expert on the Power Rangers, Transformers, Spiderman, Batman, and Star Wars. The boys in his class spend recess playing good guys and bad guys everyday.

However it doesn’t stop when preschool is over. Last week Caleb decided that him and Andrew were superheroes. A day later Andy and I also became superheroes. Here is a run down of our superhero name and power:

Caleb is “Captain Shrinky”- Can shrink bad guys with the click of one button on his watch. He even sleeps with the watch because you never know when a bad guy might come around.

Andrew is “Captain Slime…he fights crime” – Can slime (spit up) on the bad guys. Sometimes he even slimes other good superheroes like Captain Shrinky. He used to be extremely tall, but he was shrunk by Captain Shrinky, of course. That’s why he still talks and thinks like a grown-up but looks like a baby.

Andy is “Captain Stinky” – Foot odor knocks out the enemies.

And me? I’m “Captain Milk Shooter” – One drop of my poisonous milk will kill any evil doer.

Caleb created our names and powers, and this is without a doubt his new favorite game. He races around the living room at night daring Andrew to try and slime him.

Nothing in my past prepared me to be the only female in the house. I grew up with my dad outnumbered three to one by girls and even our animals were all female. I didn’t learn how to play superheroes, Legos, cars, etc. This is a whole new world for me, but it is a lot of fun learning.

Like Spiderman we follow the motto, “With great power comes great responsibility”. So if you are a bad guy and see us out in public…watch out. We might look normal but our powers can be deadly!

  1. Tiffany, I also came ill equipped when it came to creating super powers and names. But trust me, time is the best teacher. You will become an awesome superhero mom! Just learning to live in their imagination and play along with them gives them the greatest joy and lets them know you really care. I wish you the best of luck as you manuver this unknown road toward superherodom. :) p.s. – May the Force be with you!
