Sliding Down the Hill

By Andy on 2 January 2006

Christmas 2005 - Sliding down the hill on cardboard boxes is an old tradition that I remember from my childhood, but for the first time I introduced Tiffany and Caleb to the sport. It was so much fun. That's me screaming like a little school girl. I was trying to "ham it up" for the video. You can also hear Caleb's scream at the end. He was not acting. He genuinely feared for his life. As usual, Tiffany remained calm and composed throughout the entire ride.

  1. Wow! That looks pretty fun. Not to worry though Andy, I’m sure i’d be screaming like a girl also. Props to Tiffany for being calm. :)

May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you and make his face shine upon you, may he be gracious to you and give you and your family peace.

  2. Hmmmmm, I was there and don’t recall you acting for the camera… I seem to remember Caleb having to comfort YOU after the ride! :-)

  3. Yannick: Thanks for the blessing, my friend. It’s because we are “in Christ” that we are blessed beyond our wildest dreams.

Chris: Since you were the one recording the video, you were obviously too focused on your craft to really know for sure whether I was acting or not. I’ve got to get a camera like yours that has sound. Of course if I did start adding sound to the videos, I’d have to change the settings so that it wouldn’t just keep repeating over and over again. I’m realizing that it’s kind of annoying. I just had to turn the volume down on my speakers while I was typing this so I wouldn’t go nuts.

  5. Andy: So true we are all truly blessed.

As for the video looping. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with your settings when you do the flash video. Maybe you need to tell it not to loop by default.

  6. I don’t think we could go to ‘the farm’ at Thanksgiving or Christmas without the traditional hill sliding, weather permitting. Its funny with the kids but it’s just pure hysterical with the grown-up kids!

  7. This reminds me of all the sliding I did as a little girl in the house I grew up in. Mother and daddy use to get many pine needles out of my behind after the sliding was done! I know yall had fun!

    I Love yall!
