Surgery Update
By Tiffany on 2 February 2008Thanks to you who said a prayer for Caleb yesterday. Here is a quick update. The adenoid surgery went great. He was so brave. Never any tears, but his chin was quivering as they wheeled him away.
He has put up with so much medical stuff in the past months, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. His horse and dinosaur went with him and had their adenoids removed also.
Our biggest fear didn’t come true. Adenoid surgery is a guessing game. You don’t really know for sure if they need to come out until they are in surgery. We didn’t want to put him through that if his were fine. His adenoids were really large, and the doctor felt like we should see a lot of improvement. We are optimistic for the first time in a while!
The surgery didn’t slow him down for even a minute. He binged on ice cream, popsicles, and anything else he wanted yesterday. He says he feels good this morning with just a bit of a sore throat.
He is being spoiled with lots of extra attention from my sister Kayla and her financé Wes who are here for the weekend. His Mimi and Wayne are coming for a visit today, so he is bouncing off the walls. Thankfully the surgery didn’t ruin a weekend we have been looking forward to with lots of family.
Again thanks to you who prayed for him. We’ll keep you posted on how he does from here out.
Here’s a video of Caleb telling us about the surgery in his own words:

Praise God! I’m glad to hear he is a trooper, and bounced back so quickly.

— AJP Feb 2, 06:16 PM #The video is precious. Of coarse, Caleb is precious! I loved it when he said he had them “tooken” out!
I knew he would talk about getting to eat unhealthy things!
I love you!
