Town and Country
22 April 2006On Friday, we went live with our first team project since I’ve joined the web team at Fellowship Church. It’s basically a site-within-a-site to encourage our members to support two opportunities God has given us as a church. We’re calling these two opportunities Town and Country. That’s because one of those is in the town…Uptown Dallas to be precise. The other is in the country…a thousand acres in east Texas.
The mini-site consists of eight pages, and required it’s own navigation, a unique style, it’s own media console to play a video, and a pledge form. We started the project on Monday and were mostly finished by Thursday afternoon. I was really surprised we did all that so quickly.
Since joining the web team at Fellowship Church, I’ve learned that working in a team is so different than working solo. In a team, you get multiple sets of eyes contributing to the design, architecture, and construction of the site. Our team consists of two designers specializing in Photoshop and CSS (I’m one of those), one programmer who’s as brilliant as they come, and our manager who really understands it all, sees the big picture, and can keep us on task…and that’s not an easy job since we’re always entertaining visitors and playing music too loud.

Looks pretty good Andy. Keep up the good work (both you and the team at FC).
